Originally released on the Epitaph label (a Vee-Jay subsidiary) in 1975, this recording includes airchecks from a 1934 Cleveland broadcast, two tracks from a 1950 Cafe Society broadcast and nine tracks that Tatum recorded for Standard Transcriptions in the mid-1940s. Although the source material for this disc was very old transcription discs, Tatum fans and jazz lovers alike are sure to appreciate the rarity of these recordings
