Product Description:
Though Ian Matthews (born Ian Matthews MacDonald) had played with many bands throughout the late-1960s, it was his first solo album, 1970's MATTHEWS SOUTHERN COMFORT, that really gained him recognition in the soft rock world. Over the next few years, Matthews would go on to reach the top of the UK charts by covering Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock," and playing with several, constantly changing acts. Though Matthews was living in Seattle at the time, he made a special trip to his native England for this special concert in 1984, which fully displays his strength and versatility as a musician. Performing live at London's infamous Marquee Club, Matthews presents a wide range of his own repertoire as well as covers of classics by Duncan Browne, John Martyn, and the Yardbirds.
