Charming romantic comedy with the stars at their peak.
Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)
The elements are all familiar, not to say hokum, but the charm of Love on the Run is the speed and ingenuity with which they have been fitted into a brand-new pattern.

Product Description:
Can a pampered, publicity-hating heiress find true love with a reporter' And just how far will he go to get a story' In this star-studded wacky adventure comedy, Michael (Clark Gable) and Barnabas (Franchot Tone), two rival foreign correspondents, have both been assigned to what they suppose are dull events--Mike is to attend the wedding of heiress Sally Parker (Joan Crawford), who's about to marry a prince, while Barney lands an interview with two royal aviators, Baron and Baroness Spandermann. But when Sally gets cold feet, Mike pretends to be a romantic admirer and runs off with her to get the scoop. When Sally and Mike steal the Spandermanns' plane, they discover that the baron and baroness are actually spies, setting the stage for a wild cross-country adventure that's buoyed by a love triangle between Tone, Crawford, and Gable.
