Entertainment Reviews:

Hollywood Reporter - 01/17/2009
"RUDO Y CURSI scores from every angle -- comic, personal and cross-cultural....Cuaron's rich narrative courses through an array of personal obstacles, all of them universal and readily identifiable."
USA Today - 05/11/2009
3 stars out of 4 -- "It's a pleasure to watch the chemistry and engaging humor between actors who clearly enjoy each other's company....Such is the case with the Mexican stars of RUDO Y CURSI..."
Los Angeles Times - 05/08/2009
"[T]he arrival of the puckishly entertaining, fleet-of-foot drama-comedy RUDO Y CURSI deserves a hearty welcome....RUDO Y CURSI pulses with life..."
Entertainment Weekly - 05/15/2009
"RUDO Y CURSI is a sly miniaturist pleasure on its own terms, a piquant fable about the bouncing ups and downs of success, failure, competition, and comradeship." -- Grade: B+
New York Times - 05/08/2009
"RUDO Y CURSI lives up to its name, as do its sweet and scrappy heroes....With a winning measure of swagger and style."
Chicago Sun-Times - 05/13/2009
3 stars out of 4 -- "This isn't a sports movie, but a human comedy, and depends on the effortless chemistry between Luna and Garcia Bernal, who evoke, like real brothers, the ability to love and hate each other and push all the right buttons."
A.V. Club - 05/07/2009
"RUDO Y CURSI begins as delightful satire of the tackiness and crass excess of the nouveau riche, blessed with the same loose, improvisational, French New Wave-inspired chemistry of Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN." -- Grade: B
Rolling Stone - 05/28/2009
3 stars out of 5 -- "Soccer provides the backdrop for this rowdy, ramshackle comedy....[G]ood-natured fun..."
Uncut - 06/18/2009
4 stars out of 5 -- "[A]n agreeably ramshackle football farce, directed by Cuaron's screenwriting partner and brother, that still says a surprising amount about the state of South America..."

Product Description:

Score! From the creators and stars of the international sensation, Y Tu Mama Tambien comes a raucous comedic drama following two brothers' rivalry which [object]s from the rural banana plantation where they play soccer for the village team, to the big city stadiums where they battle on opposing sides. When a talent scout gets stranded in their tiny town, brothers Beto (Diego Luna; Milk, The Terminal) and Tato (Gael Garcia Bernal; Bad Education, Babel) are discovered and whisked away to Mexico City to play for the big leagues where they quickly achieve fame. Beto is nicknamed "Rudo" for his hotheaded goalkeeper style and Tato is called "Cursi" for his peculiar scoring technique. But success leads to excess as Rudo descends into a quagmire of gambling debt and drug abuse and Cursi is distracted by beautiful women and a second career as a pop singer. Having come so far, will the siblings remember their original goal: building a home for their mother'
