Product Description:
EU-only collection. Known as "The Golden Voice of Rock 'n' Roll", Ray Peterson was a genuinely remarkable singer with a four-and-a-half octave range. His passionate and dramatic singing style and powerful onstage presence made him a popular live performer and he carved out a big career in Las Vegas, as well as a string of hit records. Peterson famously recorded the original versions of two of the 20th century's iconic Rock 'n' Roll songs, "The Wonder of You" (later revived so spectacularly by Elvis) and the controversial death-disc "Tell Laura I Love Her", both of which were million sellers. He also famously worked with a very young Phil Spector at the outset of the latter's career, with whom he recorded the million-selling "Corrina-Corrina" plus a couple of smaller hits, "Be My Girl" and "I Could Have Loved You So Well".
