Widely regarded as the father of modern country music, Hank Williams hit superstar status at the age of 25 and was to enjoy four brief years in the spotlight before his death from heart failure. During that spell Hank recorded vociferously, with almost as many recordings appearing after his death as he had enjoyed during his lifetime. More important than the quantity was the quality; many of the recordings that appeared after his death were the equal, if not better, than those that had appeared in his heyday. Gathering together a twenty track greatest hits is therefore an almost impossible task, so much so that we have opted to split them into two releases - watch out for a further twenty greatest hits from Hank Williams in the coming months.
