4 stars out of 5 -- [I]t’s a testament to Gordon-Levitt’s confidence as an actor, and control as a filmmaker, that however much of a prat Jon may be, we can’t help investing in the possibility of his redemption.

[A] bruisingly funny, bracingly smart comic dare that marks a stellar feature directing and writing debut for Joseph Gordon-Levitt...

3.5 stars out of 4 -- Writer/director/star Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes an intriguing subject -- human attraction -- and nimbly probes it with wit, insight and a disarming forthrightness.

Rating: 9/10 -- Don Jon isn't just a good effort from a first-time director. It's a pretty good film on its own too. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- Don Jon is simply too broad to make hay out of its mildly provocative premise. Full Review

Product Description:

Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes his feature directorial debut with this funny yet earnest psychological comedy-drama about a womanizer named Jon Martello (Gordon-Levitt) who earns the nickname "Don Jon" for his ability to charm beautiful women, but remains unable to forge a meaningful connection with the opposite sex due to his all-consuming Internet porn addiction. Meanwhile, as Jon struggles to free himself from the realm of virtual debauchery, he connects with two disparate women (Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore), who separately try to teach him the true value of intimacy.
