Buck Sawyer rides to the aid of a rancher who has been shot down in cold blood. Ruth Hopkins, the beautiful daughter of the murdered man, discovers the cowboy kneeling over her father's corpse, and takes him prisoner at gunpoint. Buck manages to flee, with a lynching party hot on his trail. The real killer is the same man who has been terrorizing the territory with a string of murders and robberies - the notorious Juarez Kid - and Buck's only chance of escaping the hangman's noose is to bring him to justice.

Son of a U.S. Congressman, Guinn "Big Boy" Williams started out working rodeos, playing pro baseball, and later graduating to motion pictures. A journeyman actor, Williams appeared in western classics including Dodge City (1939), Sante Fe Trail (1940) and The Commancheros (1961).
