Rating: 2/5 -- A glorified home movie, complete with self-congratulary smugness from the band's original members. Full Review

3 stars out of 4 -- You don't need to be a Journey fan to savor this compelling global Cinderella story.

Rating: 3.5/5 -- Pineda's ebullience is infectious, and "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" is a pleasant story of dreams coming true. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- Pineda's humility is a rare rockumentary commodity, but the film around him is riven with underarticulated tensions: any suspicion that the management might have employed third-world labour to enable the show to go on is simply shrugged off. Full Review

3 stars out of 4 -- Pineda nails every Journey song he's given to sing, with a level of precision that stuns the other members of the group.

Rating: 1.5/4 -- [Plods] from one performance to the next with unnecessary asides for veteran Journey members to talk about their own lives (trivia of interest to megafans and no one else). Full Review

Product Description:

When the rock band Journey wanted to reunite for a tour, they were in need of a new lead singer. When guitarist Neal Schon found a YouTube clip of a Filipino named Arnel Pineda fronting a cover band that played a bunch of Journey's songs, he knew he had found the right man for the job. This documentary follows Pineda as he joins the band, tours with them for the first time, and records an album. The filmmakers also explain his poverty-stricken childhood, and capture the moment when he returns to his home country to perform with Journey.
