Rating: 4/5 -- Overlong, reactionary, but enjoyable with enough of the old Capra magic to make it work.

Rating: B -- Capra's next to last film, a tale of a widower and his young son, is not up to his level but the film is entertaining due to the star turn of Frank Sinatra, and of course the popular Oscar-winning tune "High Hopes," which he sings. Full Review

Frank Sinatra appears as a lighthearted Florida widower with a twelve-year-old son in this pleasant Hollywood comedy. But it's Edward G. Robinson, as Sinatra's wisecracking brother, who runs away with the picture. Full Review

Product Description:

In this comedy-drama, Tony (Frank Sinatra) is a small-time hotel owner with delusions of grandeur. When his finances fall into trouble, he is forced to face reality in order to keep his young son. Nonetheless, he hangs on to the far-fetched dreams best voiced in the classic hit from this film, "High Hopes."
