This release offers two complete long unavailable LPs by the inimitable Yves Montand (1921-1991), one of the true perennial voices of French song: "À PARIS" (Odeon OSX-178) and "CHANSONS DE PARIS" (Odeon OSX-148). Discovered by Édith Piaf in Paris in 1944 (she made him part of her act), Montand garnered international popularity as a singer and actor, starring in numerous films. His recognizable voice and celebrated crooner songs, especially those about Paris (many of which are included here), became instant classics.
