Rating: 2.5/5 -- The film is framed so deliberately as a prelude to more exciting times to come in its sequels that it renders the ending oddly anti-climactic. Full Review

Rating: 1/5 -- "The Darkest Minds" is replacement-level cinema, a placeholder of a movie that will be largely forgotten by the time you get to your car. Full Review

Rating: 4/10 -- Some viewers may enjoy the film, and certainly I didn't hate it, but there are much better films to be seen. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- A fine director and a spirited cast are constrained by the seemingly voluntarily imposed genre restrictions. We've seen this done so much better before, and the evidence of a much better film lurks beneath the surface. Full Review

Rating: 1.5/5 -- Bare-bones X-Men facsimile combines all the worst elements of recent young adult fantasy franchises. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- It is not a terrible movie if compared to 'Twilight', but it does not play well with its own cards, and seems to be the pilot of a series that you'd probably not watch. [Full Review in Spanish] Full Review

Product Description:

Director Jennifer Yuh Nelson's first live action film is an adaptation of Alexandra Bracken's dystopian young adult novel of the same name. Amandla Stenberg stars as Ruby Daly, a 16-year-old fugitive trying to outwit an oppressive government in a future where a pandemic has killed most of America's children and left the few surviving children with psychic powers.
