Rating: 2/5 -- It's a glossy, well-acted film that is hopelessly dry in its portrayal of a sport in transition. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- The script plays safe... but Mullan and Lowden supply a moving depth of emotion, while the rowdy nature of early golf matches and the bristling class conflict off the course both prove something of an eye-opener. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- With by-the-numbers plot and structure, Tommy's Honour is a nice and untaxing way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, but is unlikely to linger in the mind afterwards. Full Review

With its rugged landscapes, handsome production design and, especially, the very appealing work of leads Peter Mullen and Jack Lowden, TOMMY'S HONOUR is an ingratiating production all-round.

Product Description:

Biopic of legendary golf champion "Young" Tommy Morris (Jack Lowden), who won the British Open as a teen in 1868 despite his father's fervent belief that their family was too lower-class to play the sport at a professional level. The rift between the two men was further widened by Tommy's romance with a woman of whom his parents disapproved (Ophelia Lovibond). Peter Mullan and Sam Neill co-star.
