No one is better or stands out beyond any other actor, which is a spectacular rarity and a blessing to every member of the audience.

We may not have needed a Trainspotting sequel, but as long as it's fun and succeeds on its own terms, what's the harm?

Boston Hassle
Mr. Boyle reprises the dodgy camera angles and tricky visuals that beckon us back to the first film with shameless deliberation....T2 never strays too far from laughs...
New York Times
This a raw, gritty sequel that picks the original story and takes it to a new level.

Movies and Shakers
If you long for the gritty charms of mid-‘90s indie cinema in general and TRAINSPOTTING specifically, T2 TRAINSPOTTING gives you exactly that.

While nothing could ever match the impact of the first, I was very happy to have them back in my life.

4 stars out of 5 -- It is a worthy sequel to what has become a sacred original, respecting the rough edges of its forerunner while putting middle-aged flesh on the once raw ribcages of its oddly sympathetic subjects.

Product Description:
This sequel to the seminal '90s indie smash TRAINSPOTTING catches up with its quartet of Scottish junkies 20 years later. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) finally returns to Edinburgh after a long exile in Amsterdam, and he soon reunites with his old pals Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller) and Spud (Ewen Bremner). As he tries to help Spud kick his heroin addiction and gets caught up in a scheme to open a brothel with Sick Boy, Renton is targeted by the sociopathic Begbie (Robert Carlyle), who wants revenge for his past misdeeds. Danny Boyle directed this follow-up, which is partly based on author Irvine Welsh's 2002 novel, PORNO.
