Product Description:

Liner Note Author: Al Fichera.
Collectables' Great Men of Rock & Roll: The 50s collects 25 songs from the archives of labels that Universal Music owns, including such legendary imprints as Decca, Chess, Polygram, and Duke. Many of the artists included are legendary as well; names like Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Conway Twitty, and Buddy Holly certainly live up to the title of the compilation. Many are less well-known but their songs are familiar, including Mark Dinning ("Teen Angel"), Johnny Preston ("Running Bear"), and Jim Lowe ("The Green Door"). None of the tracks are bad selections, and though it doesn't paint an exact portrait of '50s rock & roll, you could do much worse than this if you were looking for such an item. ~ Tim Sendra
