Rating: 8/10 -- This is definitely one of the best from the Rankin/Bass team. Full Review

It gets a little bogged down by its own insistence on worldbuilding, but if you make it to the final moments, you get one of the most moving things Rankin/Bass ever produced. Full Review

There's nothing inherently bad about the special, and it does have a number of entertaining songs. Full Review

Nearing the absolute maximum threshold for strange, vaguely European mythical spirits and the dark magic they wield, "Jack Frost" is certainly more screwed up than it is festive. Full Review

The animators kept the borscht belt humor coming... in a fable that fits right in with the bedtime stories of Hans Christian Andersen. Full Review

Jack Frost features some marvelously cracked creations... but the 1979 special's fairy-tale structure and flimsy integration of Groundhog Day folklore make for a bloated, quasi-magical mess. Full Review

Agreed. Movie Lover: from Los Angeles, CA US -- May, 7, 2007

Yeah, picked this up randomly and my 3 yr-old is OBSESSED. She can't stop talking about it, singing it, recounting it.

Most value for the money I've ever had!

Wonderful Story & Great Music Movie Lover: from Atlanta, GA -- December, 10, 2006

My son watched this movie every night for two months until our DVR box broke and we had to get a new one. Luckily I found this DVD. This movie is perfect for young and old alike. It tells the tale of Jack Frost falling in love and becoming human. It also tells us how the Groundhog can see his shadow with no clouds out. A wondrful Story and well worth the money.
