Description by

A wealthy British explorer, Sir Ronald Chatham, accompanied by his young son, embarks on a dangerous scientific mission to search for valuable deposits of tungsten in the Arabian Desert. Crossing the desert sands on camelback, Sir Ronald's party is massacred by a tribe of evil Arabs and only the youngster survives - rescued by a mysterious white woman. Injured herself and near death, she leaves him in the care of a wizened desert mystic who lives peacefully alongside the lions. The old man takes the child in and raises him to manhood. Years later the handsome young man (Jon Hall), now revered as "El Lion" by the Arabs, learns about the fate of his father and sets out to avenge his murder.

The Lion Man is a tale of survival in a harsh and savage country from the imagination of Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan.

Product Description:

Based on a tale from the "The Lad and the Lion" by Edgar Rice Burroughs, a boy is brought up in the deep jungle after his father is killed an evil Arabian. As a young man he becomes bent on revenge when vows to protect anyone who might be killed the same way his father was. After falling in love, his defining moment arrives when he saves the woman's father and becomes well known as "El Lion".

Lion Man Movie Lover: from Austin, TX US -- January, 20, 2009

For the time the story, acting, and what was going on in true life was happening.I liked and enjoyed the whole production.

Lion man Movie Lover: from Texas -- September, 24, 2006

My father was the little boy in this movie, so I may be a little biased. I thought he did a wonderful, very believable job - especially when he told me that they filmed the whole movie in 3 weeks time - and not only did he have to learn all his lines (several were cut in this version, probably due to the quality of the original film), he had to learn how to ride a camel, and deal with the Arizona desert heat. He was thrown off of the camel twice, as was the man who played his father! I enjoyed seeing how the movie was made, and how real and raw some of the desert scenes were. What a joy to find this little treasure!
