We then follow the decisive turning points of the war: Midway in the Pacifi c, El Alamein in North Africa, and Stalingrad on the eastern front. Collectively, these epic battles marked the turning of the tide and the beginning of the long road that would see allied troops fi nally march through Rome, Berlin,
and Tokyo.

The History of World War II, Vol. 3
Beginning with the D-Day landings in Normandy, we follow the victorious allied troops as they liberate Paris, break through the Sigfried line and cross the Rhine at Remagen. In the Pacifi c we see the war draw ever closer to the Japanese homeland until eventually it is brought to a dramatic end with the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and then Nagasaki.
