Clare Fischer First Time Out

The debut album released by Clare Fischer, who had made his name as an arranger for the likes of The Hi-Los. There were those who wondered whether he would be able to make the step up to band leader (albeit a trio), but First Time Out certainly puts those fears to bed. As well as his obvious arranging skills, the album showcases his abilities as a composer, and whilst the jazz influence is plain for all to see and hear, there are elements of bossa nova and mambo circulating in the background. It is a compelling mix of ingredients, making for a compelling album.
