Much of the soundtrack is given over to dialog so that we can hear the thoughts of Jonathan, his conversations with others, the pronouncements of the elders. It is all pretty bad.

Truly one of the most boring pictures ever done but with enough attractive photography to merit your brief attention.

Product Description:
Based on the best-seller by Richard Bach (who sued the production for not following his book) about Jonathan, an existential seagull in search of the meaning of life. Score by Neil Diamond (who sued the production for replacing some of his music). Director Ovady Julber claimed the film plagiarized his film "La Mer." A troubled production that fell flat. Academy Award Nominations: 2, including Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing.
