Debbie Reynolds became a nationally recognized film star after the release of the first Tammy movie, TAMMY AND THE BACHELOR. The comedy follows country girl Tammy as she nurses back to health a wealthy young pilot whose plane crashes near her home. Sandra Dee replaced Reynolds in the title role for the film's two sequels. Looking to improve herself, Tammy goes to college in TAMMY TELL ME TRUE. Finally, TAMMY AND THE DOCTOR takes Tammy to the big city where she studies to be a nurse, and in the process wins the heart of a handsome young intern.
