Entertainment Reviews:
5 stars out of 5 -- [T]his elegant, achingly sad study of debilitating depression is by no means a conventional piece of film-making. Deftly sidestepping any of the obvious narrative choices, this film confirms Campos as one of the most intelligent and consistently surprising film-makers working in US indie cinema.
The Guardian
Rating: 3/5 --
With slow-burning, stomach-squeezing panic Rebecca Hall delivers a superb performance in Christine as the real-life American television reporter Christine Chubbuck.

Times (UK)
CHRISTINE explores the numerous ways that the era’s open sexism contributes to Chubbuck’s professional frustration...Rather than make a futile attempt to explain why Chubbuck did what she did, CHRISTINE embraces the irresolvable.
A.V. Club
Hall convincingly charts her character's winding road of descent into madness and despair.

It's a surprise with this subject matter, but Antonio Campos' Christine is deliciously witty.

One Room With A View
Rating: B --
As you might guess this is a pretty grim, tragic film and I appreciate that writer Craig Shilowich did not add an ounce of sentimentality to the events of Christine.

Product Description:
This biopic centers on troubled television journalist Christine Chubbuck (Rebecca Hall), who committed suicide live on air during a newscast in 1974. Chubbuck works for the local news in Saratosa, FL, where she is frustrated by her vapid assignments and her unrequited feelings for the show's anchorman (Michael C. Hall). In time, her inability to get her life together causes her to completely unravel. Tracy Letts, Maria Dizzia, and Kim Shaw co-star. Directed by Antonio Campos.
