Description by OLDIES.com:

Bring 1970 to today with the original Who line-up performing a full live set in front of 600,000 people at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival in the U.K. At 2 a.m., August 30th, The Who appeared on stage and gave one of the most memorable concerts of their career. Thirty-four years later, the filmed negative of the show, shot by Academy Award-winning Director Murray Lerner, has been conformed to the highest visual quality. The sound has been remixed from its original 8-track tapes under the personal supervision of Pete Townshend and his Eel Pie Studios in London. The result is a stunning 24-bit mix available for the first time in 5.1 surround and DTS.

The complete high-energy, 85-minute performance of The Who is now reproduced in superb quality on this DVD, with an additional exclusive interview with Pete Townshend shot this year by Murray Lerner, and includes Who classics "My Generation," "Pinball Wizard," "Do You Think It's Alright," We're Not Gonna Take It," plus many more.

Product Description:

This rock documentary includes the complete concert performance of The Who at the third and final Isle of Wight music festival. Playing to 600,000 ravenous fans on August 30, 1970, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon outdid themselves with a towering set. They even went so far as to play the rock opera TOMMY in its entirety, giving audiences yet another reason to shout. Performing classic hits such as "I Can't Explain," "Summertime Blues," "My Generation," "Magic Bus," and many more, The Who further cemented their status as one of rock-and-roll's most thrilling live acts. While that year's Isle of Wight festival was marred by bad planning and even worse execution, there can be no denying the power of The Who's music. Murray Lerner's fascinating documentary captures a definitive moment in rock-and-roll history.
