Mr. Younger’s direction is focused and sometimes disarming....This is a boxing movie that actually gets boxing.
New York Times
Nov 17, 2016
Rating: 2.5/4 -- Younger jacks up the action in the last third, but the air goes out of a fight movie when you can see the next jab coming. Full Review

[With] a barely recognizable and thoroughly remarkable Ted Levine as manager Lou Duva, dry and tight-lipped to the point of comical stoicism....Teller makes the most of every scene.
Los Angeles Times
Nov 17, 2016
Rating: C -- Teller is appreciably committed to the character, but he's only given one note to play, his full-bodied passion wasted on a movie that would rather win on points than go for the knockout. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- While Teller and Eckhart's adrenaline-fueled presence powers the movie forward with a wonderfully engaging energy, there are flaws aplenty here. Full Review
