Rating: 1.5/5 -- An artificial and blatant production that lacks of transcendence, which could not even be cataloged as a curiosity. [Full review in Spanish] Full Review

A half-baked, time-wasting curtain-raiser for a superhero franchise that is never, ever going to happen. Full Review

Rating: 1/5 -- Not all toy marketing treatments disguised as movies are terrible; some, such as Transformers, are merely too loud and strident. But few have this movie's lack of imagination, humourlessness and corpse-like pacing. Full Review

What's truly depressing about the whole enterprise is that Garcia and Bello were pulled into it. Yes, actors love to work and bills need to be paid, but perhaps a fund could be started to spare talented thespians this sort of career embarrassment. Full Review

Rating: C- -- Given that the character began life as a hunk of plastic with a cool name, it's hardly surprising that writers have reshaped his biography on the fly, with all the consistency of kids playing with their toys in the backyard. Full Review

While the proverbial "'90s kids" may get a nostalgic kick out of seeing their old action figures in the flesh, novices are likely to be bored by a movie that feels more like a failed pilot for a TV show. Full Review

Product Description:

Teenager Max McGrath (Ben Winchell) discovers that he has superpowers, and soon encounters a robotic alien named Steel (voice of Josh Brener) who wants to harness the energy he generates. The pair team up to form a superhero called Max Steel, using the guise to fight back against an extraterrestrial threat. This sci-fi action film is based on the popular line of Mattel figures. Andy Garcia, Ana Villafañe, Maria Bello, and Mike Doyle co-star. Written by Christopher Yost (THOR: THE DARK WORLD) and directed by Stewart Hendler (HALO 4: FORWARD UNTO DAWN).
