Saikano OVA: Another Love Song

The SAIKANO anime describes a doomed love story in an era of mass destruction. Japanese high school classmates Chise and Shuji overcome their mutual shyness enough to fall passionately in love. But their bliss is shattered when Chise begins to morph into a weapon of mass destruction. Her petite frame becomes completely encumbered by heavy, sharp metal pieces, and her sad, sweet face is a striking contrast to her new body parts. The two do not know how, but somehow Chise's body has been appropriated and used in a cruel government plot. ANOTHER LOVE STORY is a parallel narrative to the SAIKANO series, and tells the story of Lt. Mizuki, the woman who served as a prototype for the ultimate weapon that Chise would become. Many of the familiar characters and events from the anime are revisited but through a different and illuminating perspective.
