Description by OLDIES.com:
Packed with mystery and suspense, this tremendously popular Granada Television series remains true to the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories. Jeremy Brett stars as Holmes; David Burke as Dr. Watson.
Episode 7: The Blue Carbuncle: The "Blue Carbuncle," a precious stone with a sinister history, has been stolen from the hotel room of its current owner, the Countess of Morcar. But when a Christmas goose and a battered hat fall into Holmes' possession, he and Watson follow a trail that leads them to suspect that perhaps the wrong man has been imprisoned for the crime.
Episode 6: The Copper Beeches: Why does Violet Hunter's prospective employer insist that she cut off her hair to take a governess position at "The Copper Beeches?" Before too long, Holmes' suspicions are confirmed when he receives a panicked message from the girl. Thus the great detective is faced with one of the most sinister puzzles of his career.
