But what of the individuals whose jobs require them to whip up meals en masse' This documentary program from cable's History Channel explores exactly that contemporary phenomenon. It visits such groups as: the nuclear submarine support team of the Bangor, Washington U.S. Naval Base, who must concoct and store up to 120 days of food at a time, for long missions; a major food supplier for the Philadelphia Eagles stadium, where over 69,000 fans have to be satiated at once; the kitchen staff of the American Music Awards, with their exhaustive after-party preparations for innumerable guests; and the employees of Planet Hollywood's Spice Market Buffet in Las Vegas, whose job involves keeping millions of gamblers well-fed. In the process, the film asks some key questions about the logistics required to conduct this type of broadly-scaled food service.
