Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 3/5 --
Don Cheadle's ambitions for his first directorial feature don't completely pan out in terms of story, but "Miles Ahead" at least stands out in its unique execution, if nothing else.

Rating: B- --
Cheadle embodies Davis in every way, down to his famously furtive and mercurial physicality, his lack of eye contact and his raspy voice.

Cinema Siren
Rating: 2/5 --
Jazz is about cadences, rhythm, and daring; everything that this dry biopic seems to lack.

One Room With A View
Cheadle demonstrates some talent behind the camera, especially in the film’s deliberately jagged leaps from present to past and back again....He’s also predictably charismatic as Davis, capturing the man’s raspy voice, hard stare, and infinite swagger.
A.V. Club
3 stars out of 5 -- Like Davis’s music, the film’s structure is modal, with Cheadle getting the legend’s changing stance spot on...
The Guardian
Rating: 4/5 --
Cheadle -- directing his first feature -- creates a film whose nerve its hero would surely admire.

Financial Times
3.5 stars out of 4 -- [It's the] impressionistic flavor that gives the film its crackling, memorable energy.

Product Description:
Don Cheadle co-wrote, directed, and stars in this biopic of legendary jazz musician Miles Davis, which takes a free-form approach to its subject's life that mirrors his playing style. As the story skips around in time, it depicts Davis' attempts to get his career back on track following a period of listlessness and drug addiction in the '70s, his relationship with a journalist (Ewan McGregor) who wants to profile him, and his troubled marriage to a former dancer (Emayatzy Corinealdi). Michael Stuhlbarg co-stars.
