[T]he movie, which Ms. Jolie Pitt wrote and directed, is a knowing or at least a ticklish commentary on celebrity and its relay of gazes, from one of the most looked-at women in the world.

Rating: 3.5/5 -- Though it sometimes settles into a monotonous dead zone, Manchester by the Sea is an exacting familial drama, rigidly held in place by a commendable supporting cast and what stands as Casey Affleck's most generous performance to date. Full Review
