Entertainment Reviews:
Description by OLDIES.com:
The Office Wife features Mackaill playing a "welcome danger to the tired businessman" while sharing the screen alongside a scene-stealing and clothes-shedding Joan Blondell (in her sophomore screen appearance). Party Husband finds ex-Ziegfield Girl Dorothy playing the better half of a thoroughly "modern marriage" whose openness threatens to bring about its premature end. Fellow Ziegfield alum Mary Doran plays the coquette whose intended conquest of the free-thinking hubbie (James Rennie) starts to throw the couple's "understanding" awry.
Movie Lovers' Ratings & Reviews:
Based on 2 ratings.
The Warner Archive Collection does an excellent job in rediscovering pre code features and putting them into a double set like The Office Wife & Party Husband. Dorothy Mackaill stars in both films as a wife struggling with the boundaries of not only marriage but being a wife as well. Prohibition and the Depression reign supreme in the country and watching these movies will remind us how far this country has come when it comes to marital bliss. These dramas are very entertaining and I urge all folks who are engaged or married to view The Office Wife and Party Husband. You might learn something from watching them.
