Description by

Satan Was a Lady is a grindhouse melodrama that descends with the hell-bent spiral of a whore who longs for a touch of mink and a way out no matter what...Honey Lauren stars as the fermenting tart. Glyn Styler plays her shady main squeeze. Blackmail, betrayal and sinister hair are among their sundry misdeeds. Directed by exploitation doyenne Doris Wishman.

Product Description:

Cult director Doris Wishman's first film in almost twenty years is the story of Cleo (Honey Lauren, MEN CRY BULLETS), a ferocious stripper who will do anything to get her share of the pie. Cleo blackmails a wealthy businessman for money, then loses it all to her lazy boyfriend's gambling problem. Frustrated by her lack of success, she goes after the slow-witted son of her blackmail victim, only to find herself falling in love--but her story comes to a tragic end as her own character flaws cause her downfall. SATAN WAS A LADY includes many of Doris Wishman's trademarks, including sex, comedy, action, a non-traditional use of editing and camera movement. The characters are fascinating, quirky and colorful, and Cleo stands out as one of the toughest femme fatales in recent film history. This independent, grass roots genre film is a must-see, especially for fans of Ed Wood or Russ Meyer.
