[T]he 3D caper expertly combines keen wit with a gentle, and very timely, message of inclusivity and empowerment.

4 stars out of 5 -- [A] delightfully well-orchestrated parable about trust and tolerance verses panic and prejudice. An encouragingly upbeat celebration of love and diversity in times of hate and uncertainty.

Rating: 5/5 -- Fresh, clever and squeal-level funny, Zootopia was just as brilliant on second viewing and no doubt will be for repeat ad nausea. Full Review

Rating: 5/5 -- Even without the complexity of its message, Zootopia would be a worthwhile addition to the Disney canon; the characters are great, the world is fascinating and the narrative is top-notch. Full Review

Rating: B -- A review eviscerating the film would make as much sense as one praising it, so it comes down to a coin-flip judgment call; let's go with the optimistic view that kids hear "stereotypes and fear of others is bad" and adults reinforce that message. Full Review

Funny, smart, thought-provoking -- and musical, too. Shakira provides the voice of a pop star named Gazelle, and her vocals complete the package appealingly.

Product Description:

In a city inhabited by anthropomorphic animals who have abandoned traditional predator/prey roles in favor of civilized coexistence, uptight rabbit police officer Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) is forced to work with charismatic fox con artist Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) to crack a major case involving the mysterious disappearance of some carnivorous citizens. But when a few of the missing critters reappear, having reverted to pre-enlightenment savagery, it exposes existing anti-carnivore prejudice among the city's herbivores that threatens to damage the fabric of their diverse metropolis. Shakira, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Tommy Chong, Octavia L. Spencer, Bonnie Hunt, Alan Tudyk, Don Lake, and John DiMaggio also lend their voices.
