Product Description:
A small-town sheriff is forced to choose between upholding the law and protecting his two teenage sons after one of them accidentally kills the influential mayor in a hunting mishap that disrupts the balance of power in their tight-knit community. Ever since he was elected sheriff, Bloom Towne (Ted Levine) has had to answer to Mayor Dick Cavanaugh. The Cavanaugh family practically owns the entire town, so when Bloom's adolescent sons Nate and Skylar mistakenly shoot Mayor Cavanaugh dead while deer hunting, the powerful family demands that justice be served. Meanwhile, younger sibling Skylar claims responsibility for the shooting in order to protect his older sibling, but faces serious consequences when the judge declares he be tried as an adult. But there's no way that Nate is going to watch Skylar throw his life away for a crime he didn't even commit, and when Nate busts his younger brother out of jail, all hell breaks loose. Later, as the two brothers take flight into the surrounding woods, their father dredges up some long-buried family secrets while weighing his duties as a lawman against his commitment to family. Matthew Lillard, Martin Starr, and Justine Bateman co-star.
