opting almost frame-by-frame Gus Van Sant's technique on "Elephant", Australian director Murali K. Tharulli is shamefully exploitive in the manner in which he conveys teenage angst in "2:37". Full Review

The film flows naturally around its central contrivance, employing unforced performances by unprofessional actors and a visual style that uses available light to pull you into the worlds these students inhabit. Full Review

There's nothing new about teenage angst, but there's plenty new in the way first time director Murali K. Thalluri treats the subject in 2:37. It's a stunning debut.. Full Review

Rating: 7/10 -- Un exercice tout à fait valable face auquel la réception aurait été assurément plus clémente si Murali K. Thalluri s'était exprimé en utilisant ses propres cordes vocales. Full Review

A queasy exploitation picture masquerading as a serious dramatic treatment.

Rating: 2/4 -- Inspired by Gus Van Sant's Elephant to an almost absurd degree, 2:37 consequently comes off as a pale shadow of its progenitor. Full Review

Description by OLDIES.com:

A contemporary, ensemble drama telling the complex tale of six high school students whose lives are interwoven during a normal school day when, at precisely 2:37, a tragedy occurs. As the story unfolds, the individual stories of the six teenagers are revealed, each with its own explosive significance. An unwanted pregnancy unravels a terrible, dark secret; all is not as it appears for the seemingly confident school football hero; an outcast must deal with everyday taunts from his peers; a beautiful young girl battles an eating disorder; a stellar student constantly struggles to win his parents' approval; while another uses drugs to escape from his own demons. 2:37 is a thought-provoking cinematic journey that is at once beautiful, devastating, passionate, bold, controversial, unforgettable and above all, humane.
