A fortune teller tells a store clerk with a romantic disposition that she was a Spanish noblewoman in an earlier life. The girl begins to live the part of the Spanish noblewoman and romance and comedy ensue.

A peasent-girl masquerades as a noble Spanish maiden and is presumed lost when she falls overboard during a cruise. WHAT HAPPENED TO ROSA' is apparently the only known surviving film of the 16 that Mabel Normand made for the Goldwyn Company after her contract with Mack Sennett ended, and represents the actresses' outstanding pantomimic ability and screen presence.
