Product Description:
One in a series of jazz concert film releases that present back-to-back compilations of unrelated gigs, this begins with a March 1962 San Francisco concert headlined by Sonny Rollins, with backup by Jim Hall, Bob Cranshaw and Ben Riley; the ensemble plays "The Bridge," "God Bless the Child" and "If Ever I Would Leave You." The program then segues to a January 1964 track ("My Kinda Love,") with a quartet headlined in San Francisco by trumpeter Art Farmer. The final two selections return to Sonny Rollins territory, in this case a 1973 gig shot in Laren, Holland with accompaniment by Walter Davis, Jr., David Lee, Bob Cranshaw and Yoshiaki Masuo. Tracks in that section include "Don't Stop the Carnival" and "St. Thomas."
