Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 2.5/4 --
The movie ambles along amiably enough for a while; it's better if you are a fan of one or more members of the cast.

With Big Stone Gap, Trigiani sets out to crack the cycle of sentimental melodrama by reminding us that adults still dare to dream and sometimes even follow through on achieving those hard-to-articulate wishes.

Trigiani's heart is in the right place and the film is very obviously a labor of love that isn't very heavy on plot but makes you feel like you're right at home.

By the time we get to the final, borderline ludicrous moments in Big Stone Gap, I wasn't even surprised by the overwhelming sappiness of it all.

If you really want an unpretentious, sweet romantic movie, you deserve a whole hell of a lot better than Big Stone Gap.
