Acclaimed filmmaker Ansel Faraj (Doctor Mabuse) presents Detective Adam Sera, a new series in the style of gritty film noir classics and vintage "blood-and-thunder" pulp magazines. Drawing inspiration from Mike Hammer movies like Kiss Me Deadly (1955) and The Girl Hunters (1963), as well as the ‘Batman' films of Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan, Faraj creates a world that is at once startlingly visceral, yet also...eerily familiar. Like in previous works Theatre Fantastique (2014-2017) and The Last Case of August T. Harrison (2015), the writer-director displays a keen awareness of cinematic history far beyond his years, homaging the classics while at the same time filtering them through his own unique sensibilities. Detective Adam Sera is classic film noir...circa 2018.
