These special edition DVD box sets include four classic movies, each in a slim line DVD case and packaged in a classy, black leatherette storage box. Looks terrific on the bookshelf and makes a great gift for any movie buff!

THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME (1932): Fiendish, blood-thirsty Count Zaroff (Leslie Banks) hunts Man instead of animals on his secluded island. When world-renowned big game hunter Robert Rainsford (Joel McCrea) is washed ashore after a shipwreck and refuses the Count's invitation to join in the hunt, he becomes the hunted. If the Count cannot track down Rainsford between midnight and sunrise, he is free. If caught, his head ends up on the Count's wall of trophies. Fay Wray is the Count's reluctant prize maiden and becomes part of the game when Rainsford takes her with him. Trip wires, diversion, decoys and other traps fill the foggy night, leading to the final chase by ferocious dogs. Wray is sultry and alluring as Eve, while Banks gives an icy performance as the evil Count. Made by RKO at the same time as King Kong and sharing much of the same eerie island sets and cast (including Wray as leading lady, Robert Armstrong and music by Max Steiner), The Most Dangerous Game is breathless in pace and timeless in its nightmarish tone!

MURDER BY TELEVISION (1935): A scientist collapses during the premiere of his television system, his death broadcast around the world. Investigations into the murder provide no clues and the victim's assistant (Bela Lugosi) becomes the prime suspect. When he is found dead with a knife in his chest, the case seems unsolvable, until the assistant appears to return from the dead and untangles the mystery. Bela Lugosi plays a dual role in Murder by Television, which was produced for under $35,000 by Cameo Pictures. Of interest is an early performance by Academy Award-winner Hattie McDaniel (Gone With the Wind) and the song "I Had the Right Idea," which was written for the film by Oscar-winner Oliver Wallace (Dumbo).

THE SPHINX (1933): Lionel Atwill stars as Jerome Breen, a stock broker and noted philanthropist who has committed a series of cold-blooded murders. Witnesses near the scene of the crimes recount that Breen had spoken to them moments after the murders were committed, however, Breen has an airtight alibi - he is a deaf mute. As the investigation unfolds, Inspector Riley (Robert Ellis) discovers a clue that will solve the mystery, but will he be able to bring the wealthy socialite to justice? Atwill is beloved by fans for his roles in Mystery of the Wax Museum, Dr. X, The Vampire Bat and many Universal horror films. He also is noted for his portrayal of Professor Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes And The Secret Weapon.

TORTURE SHIP (1939): An obsessed scientist forces a group of convicted murderers out to sea where he performs grisly glandular experiments in an effort to rid them of their criminal tendencies. The ship's captain leads a mutiny to overtake the doctor and his strongmen, but is turned into a zombie for his trouble! Director Victor Halperin (White Zombie) adapted this lurid tale from an 1899 Jack London story, A Thousand Deaths. It was released by Producers Distributing Corporation (later PRC) and features familiar character actors Irving Pichel (Dracula's Daughter) Skelton Knaggs and Lyle Talbot.
