jazz alto sax legend Bud Shank, featuring dynamic
performance footage from a recent recording session as
well as extensive interviews in which Shank discusses
his 60-year career as one of the founding members of
the "West Coast" jazz movement.
The program includes many historic performances,
including the 1962 Frankly Jazz TV show and the
1957 Stars of Jazz TV show. Shank is interviewed
extensively about his life and career, and hundreds of
rare photographs are featured. Produced and directed
by Grammy-nominated producer and award winning
filmmaker Graham Carter.
Includes a bonus CD of tunes from the documentary
film and some rare Bud Shank recordings. Film premiere
at the Los Angeles Jazz Institute festival in May 2008.
