Return to the Blue Lagoon is neither campy enough to be howlingly funny nor prurient enough to be provocative.

Return to the Blue Lagoon is a pointless spinoff of the 1980 hit, which was itself a remake of a 1949 British pic.

The travelogue-style photography is soothing, the bodies are pretty and the music isn't offensive, but feature-length movies can't survive on the ingredients for a standard airline commercial.

A textbook example of a disaster that amazingly manages not only to contain bad acting and an appalling script, but also some of the most unconvincing love scenes ever committed to film.

Description by OLDIES.com:
Return to the enchanting South Pacific where an exciting new adventure unfolds. When two young lovers lose their lives at sea, they leave behind their young son Richard (Brian Krause). Kind-hearted widow Sarah Hargrave (Lisa Pelikan) and her daughter, Lilli (Milla Jovovich), rescue the orphan, but through tragic circumstances, the children are abandoned on a deserted island. As days turn into years, the boy and girl experience the blissful awakening of tender young love. But their rapture is violently interrupted by the troublesome crew of a passing ship and the new temptations that it brings. Their dreams of returning to society quickly fade when their hearts tell them that nothing is worth sacrificing the purest of loves.
