Kermode & Mayo's Film Review
The sea monsters are anything but monstrous in this breezy and sweet and wonderfully colorful fantasy from Disney-Pixar.
Chicago Sun-Times
Rating: 3/5 --
It's as sweet and refreshing as that first dip in the sea on a hot summer's day: you might have done it last year, but the tingle on your skin and the heady rush of adrenaline never loses its shine.

It is lesser Pixar, but lesser Pixar is still better than a lot of other animation.

FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles)
Rating: 4.5/5 --
Does this film reach the heights of Pixar's greatest films? No. No one is going to put this one in the pantheon. However, it is a gentle and gently entertaining reminder that even second- or third-tier Pixar means a high-quality movie experience.

While Luca might lack some of the dizzying inventiveness that marks out top-tier Pixar, it's packed to the gills with charm.

Product Description:
The 13-year-old boy Luca Paguro (Jacob Tremblay) finds himself in the beautiful seaside town of Portorosso on the Italian Riviera for the summer. There, he meets Alberto Scorfano (Jack Dylan Grazer), a fellow teenage boy, and together, they spend their days eating pasta, downing gelato, riding scooters, and going on endless adventures. Their fun, however, is constantly threatened by their fear of the townspeople finding out about their little secret: that they came from the depths of the sea. Directed by Enrico Casarosa.
