Its primary appeal is its speed: It rushes along, from scandal to air crash to movie romance to Senate hearing, each anecdote well realized but never tarried over. Full Review

Scorsese gives us a lot more than the Charles Foster Kane of the clouds. He keeps focus on Hughes, the dreamer, who continually reached out, grabbed the future and pulled it toward him. Full Review

It's a measure of The Aviator's complexity and ambiguity that it can be read equally as a celebration of rugged, capitalist individualism and as a leftist critique of cutthroat free-market competition. Full Review

This handsome movie is an oddly well-behaved one to come from the preternaturally energetic Scorsese. Full Review

Description by OLDIES.com:

As a solo pilot for the nation's newly formed airmail service, Edgar Anscombe (Christopher Reeve), a man haunted by a tragic memory, has made a career of keeping to himself over the years. But one day he's unexpectedly assigned an involuntary passenger: the rebellious and outspoken Tillie Hansen (Rosanna Arquette), whose unrelenting impudence drives Edgar crazy. When their plane is forced to crash-land in a rugged and desolate mountain canyon, the unlikely companions find they have only one source of hope against the excruciating elements, the savage wilderness and a pack of hungry wolves: each other.

Product Description:

A young woman reluctantly agrees to be the world's first airline passenger, and, as luck would have it, the plane crashes. With the plane's pilot, she struggles to survive in a harsh mountain wilderness.
