Music Lovers' Ratings & Reviews:
Based on 7 ratings.
Doo-wop ruled the Rock `n Roll airwaves from 1956-1959.In fact, most of the songs featured here were #1 or at least in the top 10 of the Billboard hit list.Obviously, I feel there should be at least 20 such songs featured to allow the novice listener more of a varied musical experience.Nevertheless, the fact that most of these songs will be somewhat familiar to most folks over the age of 40 may strike home the point that most of the best early Rock hits were performed in the style of doo-wop.So even though the later "Hard core" doo-wops are more of an acquired taste for some, those same folks who "like oldies but not necessarily doo-wop" need to listen to this and other similar collections to realize that most of those "classic oldies" they love were actually doo-wop as well!
