From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Ira Sachs (b. November 21, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American filmmaker. His first film was the acclaimed short Lady (1993). He directed Sundance Film Festival selection The Delta (1997) and directed Sundance Film Festival Grand Prize winning Forty Shades of Blue (2005).
