Taking their cue from the Misfits (and their ghoulish stage attire), the band members of the raucous garage rock outfit the Mummies obscure their identities by covering the majority of their bodies with gauze, and like the staunchest punk rockers, the Mummies champion vinyl over CDs - they did not officially release an album on the CD format until nearly 15 years after their formation. Hailing from San Francisco, California, USA, the Mummies originally came together during 1988, comprising Larry Winther (guitar), Maz Kattuah (bass), Trent Ruane (organ/saxophone), and Russell Quan (drums). Five singles emerged in one year alone (1990), before work began on a debut album.
