Despite coming from Umeå, Sweden, the (International) Noise Conspiracy specializes in a melodic punk style usually associated with the UK and USA. The band’s leader, vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, first learned the tricks of his trade as part of the 90s punk outfit, the Refused, who managed to issue several albums before splitting in 1998. Immediately after, Lyxzén set about forming a new band, that after joining up with Lars Strömberg (guitar/vocals), Inge Johansson (bass), Sara Almgren (guitar/organ), and Ludwig Dahlberg (drums), resulted in the birth of the (International) Noise Conspiracy. In December of the same year, the band congregated in a local recording studio to record a total of 12 original compositions, all of which were released on a variety of singles via various indie labels (all of these tracks were eventually collected on the compilation, First Conspiracy).
