Decades: 1990s

Based in Austin, USA, this novelty country music duo comprises Sam Aldred (5 May 1934) and DeWayne ‘Son’ Smith. Very much in the vein of Homer And Jethro, they recorded ‘Chubby (Please Take Your Love To Town)’, the alternative ‘Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town’. They recorded some duets with Willie Nelson. In the 90s and working as just the Geezinslaws, they had moderate success with ‘Help, I’m White And I Can’t Get Down’, which was co-written with fiddle player Clinton Gregory.
