Biography

An R&B vocal group from the Queens Borough of New York City, New York, USA, the Chanters, formed in 1957, were one of the best of the many groups who patterned their pre-teen lead sound after Frankie Lymon And The Teenagers. The members were Larry Pendergrass (lead), Fred Paige (tenor), Bud Johnson, Jnr. (tenor), Elliot Green (baritone) and Bobby Thompson (bass).
